Having grown up largely spending much of my time in the bush, made me very aware of the incredible Birds of Prey that we have here in Africa. Two of my absolute favourites have to be the beautiful African Fish Eagle and the majestic Black Eagle. Both have very unique characteristics and BOTH have the most hauntingly, beautiful cry.
The Fish Eagles' timing when it comes to fishing is something to behold, and very seldom will you hear that call and see that swooping as they almost appear to dive into the water without their talons roped around their upcoming meal. We often hear about timing - Oh that was "the wrong timing" or "what about Gods timing" or "When IS the right timing?".
The Bible devotes almost a whole chapter to timing, leaving us with a very telling conclusion. Yes, there is a time for everything, and if we take a cue from the fish eagle, we will see that much of it is instinct, is training that came from the parents and also that conditions were just right!
Ecc 3: 1 Theres an opportune time to do things, a right time for everything on earth...
A right time for birth and another for death, a right time to plant and another to reap....
AND a whole lot more.. but the conclusion....
Ecc 3:12 Ive decided that theres nothing better to do than to go ahead and have a good time and get the most out of life. Thats it - eat, drink and make the most out of your job. It's Gods' Gift.

Dare to fly with Eagles...(6)
.. And not with the Chickens...
Traits that Chickens tend to show in the Chicken Coup...
1. The "definite heirarchy" found in the Chicken coup is one of "may the fittest chicken win". If any should be found to be weak, the other chickens will often gang up on the weakling and will peck it to death. If one catches a bug, the others will do everything in their power to take it away from them, making them huge bullies.
2. They are content to scratch in the dirt and are content to eat anything that is thrown into the coup or finds its way there.
3. They are always looking down.
4. Even though they are birds, they are earth bound and will only fly in short bursts.
The "Chicken Life" is not the life that the Christian should want to be living!! We've been equipped with everything needed to live the life of the Mighty, majestic eagle! Don't live your life content to be scratching in the dirt, eating anything that comes your way and content to be living in the Chicken Coup. Dont live your life never learning to fly high above the storms and clouds, never learning to fly the heights you were made to fly!!

Soar with Eagles...(5)
FRESH meat, fish or bird is the staple diet of the majestic eagle. They have the eagle eye to spot their prey from kilometers away and they have the speed to swoop down and launch a swift attack. They have the strength to catch prey as large, if not larger than themselves and carry it off with the strength found in extremely powerful talons.
Feeding on the "fresh meat" of the Word on a daily basis sharpens our senses to catch the right "prey"(the right business opportunity, the right circumstance etc) that might present itself to us at the right time. It enables us to apply the right tactic and it gives us the strength and tenacity to go for the right opportunity that might present itself to us.
Feed on the Word Daily until its principles become an "instinct" that helps us gain the wisdom and understanding needed to rise in life! "Fresh Daily Meat" will help us gain the strength needed to soar with the other eagles, high above storms, onto higher heights and into winds that allow us to glide and rest and rise all at the same time!!

Soar with the Eagles...(4)
Do you know that Eagles LOVE to soar above the storms. They know long before it breaks that its approaching and an excitement fills them as stormy winds and smells fill the air. They take off into the air and wait until a wind comes up that is strong enough to take them above the turbulence going on below them.
The majestic eagle can teach us much about rising above the storms of life and learning to soar. Smaller birds will take cover, but when the storms of life gather darkly ahead, instinct and training take over in the eagle and they know exactly what to do when the time comes. They do not try and escape the storm, but will use the turbulence to help them rise higher above the circumstances.
Its important to remember that its not the troubles and storms that should weigh us down, but how we handle them and how we come through that will strengthen our character and help us come through as stronger humans beings.
We can decide to trust God and believe that He has our best interests at heart.
We can allow God to help lift us up above those storms!!
Lean into His Word, time together with His Body and into Prayer!! " Strengthen the bonds" of the brain through positive confessions. DECIDE to come out stronger, see yourself the victor and put that vision in front of your eyes!!

Where Eagles Dare to Fly...(3) - the Family
Written by Nyretta Boshoff
The Eagle is the most incredible of creatures, able to fly above storms, where no other bird can fly, yet looking after his family is of paramount importance to him. When he goes about selecting a nesting site, a home, he will find the tree or the rock high above where any predator is able to reach. It will be strong enough to hold his nest which in some cases have been known to reach 2 tons and will test those branches by falling out of the sky and crashing into them. They will be branches strong enough to withstand the beating of natures turbulent forces.
He will make sure that there is a good supply of water nearby and that the nest is sheltered and warm enough to house his offspring that are about to enter the "world of eagles".
This big old bird that can fly so high above the earth will then be found taking turns in household duties, he is vital to the success of raising healthy young chicks.
The preparation of the nest, the sitting on the eggs and hatchlings and the hunting for food are all activities that the pair do together. The eagle pair will have a monogamous relationship all the day of their living lives and will remain totally loyal to one another until the day one party dies. In this we see that partnership brings about life and success, ACTIVE participation of BOTH parties leads to success.
"A partnership is an arrangement where parties agree to cooperate to advance their mutual interests. Partnerships present the involved parties with special challenges that must be navigated unto agreement. Overarching goals, levels of give-and-take, areas of responsibility, lines of authority and succession, how success is evaluated and distributed and often a variety of other factors must be negotiated" Wiki
When entering into marriage one needs to have an understanding that this is a full partnership for life and that ultimately you will be negotiating boundaries to advance your mutual interests. Your goals, levels of give-and-take, understanding and clear discussion of what you both understand by your areas of responsibility, lines of authority and understanding of successful parenting need to be clearly communicated and agreed upon by both parties.

Where Eagles Dare to Fly...(2) Focus
Focus
One of the definitions of Focus is selectively concentrating on one aspect of the environment while ignoring other things. (Wiki)
The eagle can spot prey from an area 4.8km away. Their incredible ability to focus on their prey from that distance almost always ensures a great catch. This means ignoring all aspects, ALL other things that could be a distraction and going all out for the pivotal thing that has our focus.
It also means absolutely having the prey(Vision) in our eyesight, not taking our eyes off that vision that will almost always ensure success.
The bible is full of scriptures on Vision and tells us to write the Vision down and make it clear. Put it in front of your eyes like an eagle will keep his prey in his eyesight. Write your vision down, put photographs of what you want to achieve in front of your eyes until such time as you are physically able to put your talons in and see the fruit.
Focus is a vital part of seeing a dream fulfilled!!

Where Eagles dare to fly....(1)
Job 12:7 "But now ask the beasts, and they will teach you; And the birds of the air , and they will tell you; 8 Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you; And the fish of the sea will explain to you. 9 Who among all these does not know That the hand of the Lord has done this.
Isaiah 40:27 Why do you say,O Jacob, And speak, O Israel: " My way is hidden from the Lord, And my claim is passed over by my God"? 28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. 29 He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. 30 Even youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, 31 But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
Lessons from the wild
1. We can learn lessons from nature
2. We can receive strength and power from Him when we are weak by waiting on Him.
3. He truly understands you
4. The strength that comes from Him will be such that we can run without growing weary
5. Spend time in His presence!!
