Memory plays a huge role in addictions....
Just by giving in once, we create memory!! We start growing branches on those trees - in our minds. The more we experience that thing, the more memory we create, and the thicker the density of the branches - the higher the mountains of memory we form in our minds.
We start a memory tree in our brains. A remembrance for the pleasure that that thing offered - it will often jump up when we feel a need to escape from life for a moment or want to forget about the routine of normal living.
We can build huge mountains of positive memory, or huge mountains of negative memory. With the positive memory comes positive chemicals that will flood our bodies, physically having a positive effect on our lives. With the negative memory comes negative chemicals that will also flood our bodies, phyically having a negative effect on us.
Gossip also becomes a mountain in our lives and will release a certain cocktail of chemicals that becomes addictive and causes us to feel a certain amount of pleasure, and so Gossip in itself becomes addictive....
All negative memory can be counteracted by making the mountain of positive memory in your mind bigger and stronger than the negative ones!!!
Guard your heart and your mind, because out of them will FLOW THE ISSUES OF LIFE....
