WORDS...WORDS...WORDS...
The words that we speak and the words that are spoken over us are almost as important as the air that we breathe or the water that we drink. They have life bearing consequences in our lives and have the ability to steer us in different directions as a rudder steers a ship!
Today I would like to share some scriptures from the bible with you to show you the value that scripture and God places on words...
James 3:2 - - We all stumble in many ways. Anyone who is never at fault in what they say is perfect, able to keep their whole body in check.
When we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we can turn the whole animal.
Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go.
Likewise, the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a great fire.. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one's life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell
Proverbs 13:2 - From the fruit of their lips people enjoy good things...
Proverbs 13:3 - Those who guard their lips preserve their lives, but those who speak rashly come to ruin..
Proverbs 18:6 - The lips of fools bring them strife and their mouth invites a beating...
Proverbs 18:7 - The mouth of fools are their undoing, and their lips are a snare to their lives...
Proverbs 18:20 - From the fruit of their mouth
Proverbs 18:21 - The tongue has the power of life and death...
Oh Father, please set a Guard over the door of my mouth, keep watch over the door of my lips Ps 141:3 - thankyou!
